23rd March 2012 – For immediate release
A call for Voluntary and Community groups to come forward and celebrate National Volunteers’ Week 1st to 7th June 2012.
Volunteer Centre Sandwell are inviting local people to enjoy a day with displays, cake stalls and a hamper raffle. Come along to West Bromwich Central Library on Friday 1st June 2012. The day will begin at 10.00 am and conclude at 3.00 pm.
There will be plenty on offer for local people to find out about current volunteering opportunities. Also, voluntary groups will be present to convey the message of their specialised service and the benefits of volunteering.
We are encouraging new groups that are looking for volunteers to come along and join us! Volunteer Centre Sandwell has over 300 organisations registered on their database that are currently recruiting volunteers to support their service delivery. Jean Taylor, Chief Executive Officer said, “This Fun Day will be a great chance to show just what we have to offer and hopefully bring even more people through our doors.”
On Wednesday and Thursday 6th and 7th June, Volunteer Centre Sandwell together with local community groups will be outside New Look on West Bromwich High Street, promoting and raising the profile of volunteering. There will also be the opportunity for local people to register their particular interest.
