Nominations open for Sandwell Volunteer Awards
THE SEARCH IS ON for the borough’s best loved unpaid helpers with the launch of the 2013 Sandwell Volunteer Awards. Local people are invited to nominate volunteers or community groups that make Sandwell sparkle so they can be thanked for the difference they make.
Volunteer Centre Sandwell is gearing up to host a special ceremony in June, when Health & Social Care, Community, Corporate, and Environmental Awards will be presented. A further special award will go to a Young Volunteer who has made an outstanding contribution.
The ceremony is set to be even more special as it marks the 35th anniversary of Volunteer Centre Sandwell and will also take place during National Volunteers’ Week.
Jean Taylor from Volunteer Centre Sandwell said, “We have spent 35 years helping local volunteers to find the perfect opportunities for them and these awards are our way of saying thank you for the huge difference that they make.”
Nomination forms are available from Volunteer Centre Sandwell, Municipal Buildings in Oldbury (next to SavaCentre) or emailing firstname.lastname@example.org .
The closing date for entries is Friday April 5th after which time nominations will be considered by an independent panel drawn from representatives of local voluntary and statutory sectors.
Volunteer Centre Sandwell can be contacted on 0121 544 8326 for more information.
