Make a difference day 2014!

On Wednesday 1 October 2014 Volunteer Centre Sandwell together with a wide range of Community Organisations will be holding a Recruitment Fair at West Bromwich Town Hall from 10am – 3pm.

Jean Taylor Chief Executive Officer said “This year Volunteer Centre Sandwell want to inspire as many local people as possible to volunteer by showcasing the wide range of opportunities community groups have to offer.”

Councillor Steve Eling, Sandwell Council’s deputy leader, said: “Volunteering offers a fantastic opportunity for people to get involved in their local community and to make a real difference to the area they live in.

“It can also help people to develop skills which are useful for work and to socialise with like-minded people who they otherwise would not have met.”

Make a Difference Day, the UK’s biggest annual volunteering event, takes place each year in October.

This year Sandwell will lead the way with a Recruitment Fair to show local people the many benefits of volunteering and being active in their local communities.
