Free School Meals During Summer Holidays

We have had several families who are in poverty finding it very difficult to feed their children during the Summer School holidays. When at school they receive a free school meal but many parents don’t have the resource to feed them for a full 6 weeks of the Summer holidays and many children are going hungry.

As a result we have sourced capital funding (Red Nose Community Fund) to buy the equipment to feed up to 30 children per day during 4 of the 6 weeks in this next Summer holiday.

We already run a daily Soup Kitchen, so have passed all our environmental health checks and all kitchen staff have a Food and Hygiene certificate and a current clear DBS check.

We have food donations that will amply feed the children.

We want to make it fun for them also, topping their own pizzas, making cookies and decorating them, etc….

The age group will be aged 5-11. If younger siblings want to come that’s okay as long as the parent takes full responsibility for their care and well-being.

So the dates will be 10th August to 4th September inclusive, excluding weekends.

Times 12 noon to 2pm each day.

Where: Centrepoint Christian Church who operate from a converted warehouse the rear of 26-28 Carters Green, West Bromwich B70 9LW.
